Shinto shrine in the garden of Benjamin Franklin Klinik in Berlin, May 2017. Daniela had to undergo a second brain surgery to remove an abscess that had developed under the operation wound of the 2016 surgery.

This is the first of three photos that Daniela had copied into a separate folder called "Meine Krankheit-the story". She probably wanted them to play a prominent role in the series.

"Alive" is the last, incomplete work by Daniela Swarowsky who died of breast cancer in the morning of 1 June 2019.
