Daniela cuts her hair after it begins to fall after a radiation treatment. Radiation of the entire brain is an aggressive treatment with many long-term side effects,
but it worked and gave her half a year of respite until the next treatment became necessary.
In the part of her image archive covering years 2016 and 2017, Daniela did not make a
selection of photos, but she had selected some folders that she apparently wanted to include.
This image is from one of those folders.
"Alive" is the last, incomplete work by Daniela Swarowsky who died of breast cancer
in the morning of 1 June 2019.
