Daniela and I at Christmas dinner with friends in our home in Berlin. We were in the middle of a major marital crisis, and it took a few months until we were happily together again. Berlin, 24 December 2015.

In the part of her image archive covering years 2016 and 2017, Daniela did not make a selection of photos, but she had selected some folders that she apparently wanted to include. This image is from one of those folders.

"Alive" is the last, incomplete work by Daniela Swarowsky who died of breast cancer in the morning of 1 June 2019.
